If you’ve spent any time shopping our site, you’ll have noticed we like to use a number of different models to showcase our diverse product line. We want to give you an idea of how our vegan lingerie, loungewear, outerwear, swimwear, shoes, and accessories will look on a variety of skin tones and body types.
You can imagine how beyond thrilled we were when the newest face you’ll see on Lookie Lou informed us that she was vegan! Linda Winkowski, with modeling agency Ford Chicago, is not only a gorgeous model for our vegan clothing and accessories, but also shares our passion for cruelty-free, eco-conscious fashion.
Have a lookie at what she had to say about modeling with us, and what she shared about herself in a recent exclusive interview with Lookie Lou:
When did you begin your modeling career?
After high school—and I’ve been at it since then.
How long have you been a vegan?
About three years.
What made you decide to choose the vegan lifestyle?
I have always loved animals, but I have absolutely said the words, “I could never be a vegetarian.” Watching the documentary Food, Inc. made me question what I was paying other people to do to animals. I did a ton of research, with the bias that I would rather not change lifelong habits and become an outsider among the omnivore majority, but facing the terrible realities left me with no choice. I went from thinking, “I could never be a vegetarian” to “I just can’t support this cruelty, I have to go vegan.” That said, overall the transition has been a very positive experience, and I consider it one of the best things that has ever happened to me.
Have you ever modeled for an all-vegan clothing company before?
No, this was an exciting first.
What is your favorite vegan fashion brand?
Lookie Lou carries some great ones: Vaute Couture, Cri de Coeur, and Olsenhaus. I also like John Bartlett.
